As a lifelong Michigan resident, Carla's work proudly reflects the unique style and culture of the Detroit area.
After graduating from College for Creative Studies in 2002 with a bachelor of fine arts degree in photography, Carla went on to photograph a bi-monthly fashion series for Real-Detroit followed by another series for Pink.
In 2002, Carla's "Dresses" photo with fabric was shown at the Bloomfield/Birmingham Art Center gaining the attention of critics who offered rave reviews. "Woman Figure 1 & 2" won best of show at Pontiac's Lawrence street gallery in 2002 and Carla's "Untitled" Platinum Palladium was voted 2nd place in 2003. These are but a few examples of Carla's diverse appetite for mixed media and self-portraiture.
